[libavg-devel] Roadmap

Hi,

I've been thinking about goals for the next releases of libavg, and this
is my current idea as far as features go. Nothing is set in stone, yet:

0.8:
- Fix the open bugs (https://www.libavg.de/mantis/view_all_bug_page.php)
- Clean up and document the tracking interface

0.9:
- Audio support

1.0:
- API cleanup.
- Stability

The goals are
a) to release a stable tracking interface soon because people have been
asking for it and
b) to get something we can call 1.0 out the door as quickly as possible.

Also, I think we can't call libavg 1.0 if there's no audio support, and
we need at least one revision for stability after that. And, Nick, if we
have audio support ready for 0.8, that would obviously be great as well.

Of course, someone might want to add other features (vector graphics?
imaging effects? gui library?) during this time, and I have no problems
with that. If I have projects that need some other features, I'll
address that, also... anyway, comments are welcome, as is help. If
you've got bug reports or glaring omissions that should go into 0.8, by
all means speak up.

Cheers,

   Uli
